A leaning fir, gone in one morning
This 80-foot fir in the North End was leaning toward the family's garage after a windstorm. We took it down piece by piece, lowered every section by rope and ground the stump. Total time on site: four hours.

“I still come out and quote every job myself. If my name is on the truck, I want to know it's done right.”
Mike Reyes · Owner & lead climber · ISA Certified Arborist
Mike came out the same day the windstorm dropped a fir onto our carport. Fair price, super careful, and they left the yard spotless.
Got three quotes and Reyes & Sons was the only one who explained exactly what they would do. His sons were polite and hard working.
They took down two huge cedars right next to our house without a scratch. You would never know they were here.
Built for Tacoma trees
Tacoma's big conifers are why we love living here, and why our crew stays busy every windstorm season. Here's what we see in local yards.

Douglas fir
Get big firs near the house checked every few years.

Western red cedar
Deep-water mature cedars during long dry spells.

Bigleaf maple
Thin and lighten long limbs over roofs and driveways.

Red alder
Mature alders near targets deserve a closer look.
Fall
Storm prep. Remove deadwood, check big conifers near the house, clear limbs off the roof and gutters.
Winter
Best time to prune most trees while they're dormant. Storm response season: keep our number handy.
Spring
Hold off on heavy pruning while new leaves come in. Prune flowering trees right after they bloom.
Summer
Deep-water stressed trees, especially cedars. Raise low canopies and clear branches from the house.
Big tree. Tight yard. No damage.
Most removals near a house come down piece by piece on ropes. Here's what that careful work looks like from start to finish.
